Sunday, October 20, 2019 12:00 AM

The weather is suppose to be gorgeous on Sunday!

Ramble through central MA on quiet county roads. We wait for folks at turns. Stops at mile 13 and 20 with lunch at mile 26 at the Hilltop Cafe (http://www.hilltopcafenh.com/) and ice cream at mile 43. After lunch route is either downhill or relatively flat with the last 10 miles are on the Nashua River Rail Trail. That being said there is a 6 mile hill to get up to the hill top lunch and a few miles of dirt roads.

Enjoy the Beauty of the Shining Sea Bikeway

Wednesday, November 6, 2019 9:00 AM to 12:00 AM

Come Enjoy the beauty of the Shining Sea Bikeway. This is, arguably, the most beautiful path in the state. The Shining Sea Bikeway hugs the coast from Falmouth to Woods Hole and then beyond to North Falmouth, winding along the Vineyard Sound shoreline. Ideal for casual and beginner cyclists, it was built on a former railroad right-of-way. The paved path is level for nearly its entire 10.7-mile distance with only a slight grade in certain spots. Lined with familiar Cape Cod flower and tree species, it makes for a wonderful ride from Falmouth to scenic Woods Hole.

I began leading bike trips for the AMC in 1990 and led for ten years before taking a break. When I became active with the Forty Plus Committee I decided to start leading again. I took a refresher leadership course and Wilderness First Aid and now I am certified as a cross-country ski and bike leader. I have met many wonderful leaders and trip participants and Forty Plus has become one of my most enjoyable retirement activities.
