Family Outdoor Cooking Workshop, Harold Parker State Forest, Andover, MA

Always wanted to learn to cook outdoors? Become a backcountry chef! Learn new cooking techniques, involve kids in meal planning and preparation, enjoy the food we/you cook, and leave with practical (and fun!) recipes to dazzle on your next adventure. Arlington's Great Meadows, Lexington

September is a wonderful season in New England: plants are weighed down with fruits; leaves are ablaze with colors; days are warm and nights are cool. Come celebrate the season with a nature walk in Arlington's Great Meadows. We'll explore several different habitats during our journey: a pond, the pond edge, an upland forest, a field edge and a wet meadow. We will focus on plant ID as well as fun and interesting natural history about the plants we see, and learn why Arlington's Great Meadows is in Lexington.

Kids Intro to Fishing trip, Medfield, MA (BHP Level 1)

Whipple Hill and Wright-Locke Farm Family Hike - an Oasis in the Burbs, Lexington, MA (BHP LEVEL 1)

The Whipple Hill Conservation Area is located in the southeast corner of Lexington, bordering Winchester and Arlington. It has 5.7 miles of hiking trails within 120 acres of varied landscape and Whipple Hill, at 374 feet, is the highest point in Lexington. We will begin the hike at Wright-Locke Farm, a 380-year community farm in Winchester that has chickens, goats, and sheep and sells organic produce. We will meet at 11 AM and spend some time with the animals and then venture into Whipple Hill for a 2-3 mile hike over varied terrain.
