Some of our trip leaders will be there to tell you about their trips, and members of the Boston Chapter Ski Committee will be on hand to give you an idea about what we do and the great skiing to be had in New England. AVALANCHE AWARENESS TALK

Wednesday, December 4, 2019 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM

Being in the mountains in the winter can be a very fun and magical experience. But like all outdoors activities there are hazards that we need to be aware of. Avalanches are one of those winter specific hazards and they do happen in the Northeast. If you would like to learn more about avalanches and start learning about how to avoid this hazard, this talk is a great place to start. During this hour long presentation we will go over the basics of avalanches using some local examples and discuss steps you can take to be avalanche aware.
