Join us for a night of board games and card games to remember! Bring your favorite board game or come to play something you haven't before. Game night will run from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm; come for whatever time frame works for you. There may be light snacks but you should plan on figuring out dinner plans on your own.
Shannon is a 3-season leader with Young Members. She's happy to lead hikes, backpacks, and nordic ski trips in the whites or locally. She'll also recite a poem if you request it.
Join us for a beautiful hike at the Blue Hills Reservation.
Be prepared for a 3-4 hours hike at a moderate pace through some rugged, hilly terrain. Weather may be chilly so bring lots of warm layers.
Join us in the Fells on a crisp Sunday fall Morning! We will hike primarily on Skyline trail for 6-8 miles with big rocks scattered throughout and views of Boston and the fall foliage. Be prepared for being outside for a few hours (layers, snacks, and water) on a mixture of uneven, rocky terrain and forest paths at a moderate pace.
Let's get spooky at Casa Caña's pumpkin carving fiesta! You'll need to purchase a $17 ticket from Casa Caña, which includes your pumpkin, a carving kit, one beer, and toasted pumpkin seeds.
You must be 21 to attend this event.
Some appetizers will be provided. Halloween costumes are encouraged!
While we carve, you can get more information on weekend outings, volunteer opportunities, and meet others with the same passion for the outdoors.
Join AMC Boston's Young Members to volunteer at Mass Audubon's Drumlin Farm and Wildlife Sanctuary! This will be the last of our crops volunteer trips of the year - don't miss out! In September, we harvested six truckloads of pumpkins, squash, and gourds. In October, we harvested a few hundred pounds of tomatoes, beets, and potatoes. What will we help with next?! Sign up to find out!
A few folks will also have the chance to help take down the Tales of the Night event decorations from the night before - think spiderwebs, graveyard, and other assorted spooky things.
Interested in learning about the inner workings of the AMC Boston Young Members (YM) Committee? The YM Steering Committee is generally scheduled to meet on the second Monday of every month from 7:00 - 9:00 pm - dinner is provided! Our meetings are open to all in AMC YM. If interested, contact secretary Katie Blair (email@example.com) for information on location and other details.
Join Young Members leaders Samantha & Kanishk on a 9.2 mile traverse of the gorgeous Moats! We'll traverse the South, Middle and North Moat mountains. This is one of the most scenic hikes in the Whites, and despite being on the 52 With a View list (South Moat at 2770 ft and North Moat at 3196 ft), the trail is as difficult/varied as many 4,000 footers. If the weather is clear we can expect great vistas across the Saco River Valley including Mt Washington.
John, I will follow up with you about the purpose of this test event
Sean has been hiking with the AMC for four years now. He is currently working on his Northeast 111, which includes all 48 4000'ers in New Hampshire and all 46 4000'ers in the Adirondacks. When he's not hiking, you'll see him running half-marathons, marathons, triathlons or working out with November Project.
