Join the Young Members Google Group: Spontaneous Outings and Socials (SOS). SOS includes local hikes, walks, nature trips, socials, talks, workshops, etc., within the Boston area. The goal is to bring like-minded people together and encourage exploration, enjoyment, and appreciation of local open spaces and environmental issues. Trips and socials will be emailed 3-5 days in advance and will include meeting location, required equipment, skill level, and duration.
Come join Boston AMC 20s and 30s for a bar social at Russell House Tavern in Cambridge! Get more information on weekend outings, volunteer opportunities, and meet people with the same passion for the outdoors. Some appetizers will be provided. Drinks and meals are on your own. You don't need to be an AMC member to attend - all are welcome!
Dust off your gear and join Boston Chapter Young Members (20s, 30s, and young at heart) for an early season backpack in north-western Connecticut! This is a beginner-friendly women's backpack. We'll hike at a pace on the slow side of moderate ~3 miles into camp, drop off some gear, then head out for an ~4.5 mile (round trip) hike to Mt. Frissell and Mt Brace. Along the way we will pass through three states, and over the Connecticut high point! On the second day, we'll take an ~4mi route over Bear Mountain back to the trailhead.
Join AMC Young Members for the Charles River Cleanup, one of the largest single-day river cleanups in the country. We will be volunteering at the Esplanade park near the Hynes Convention Center and Charles/MGH T stops (exact location details to come).
Join us for a night of board games and card games to remember! Bring your favorite board game or come to play something you haven't before. Game night will run from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm; come for whatever time frame works for you. There may be light snacks but you should plan on figuring out dinner plans on your own. Feel free to bring food for yourself or to share.
Shannon is a 3-season leader with Young Members. She's happy to lead hikes, backpacks, and nordic ski trips in the whites or locally. She'll also recite a poem if you request it.
Do you like the outdoors? So do we. We are Boston Appalachian Mountain Club Young Members, and we are dedicated to creating a vibrant hiking community for people in their 20's and 30's in Boston. At our Spring Social, we invite you to mix and mingle with other outdoors enthusiasts, environmental activists, and future hiking buddies!
Tickets are $20 and include exclusive access to the 2nd and 3rd floors of The Baseball Tavern (including the rooftop bar!) and all you can eat appetizers.
Join AMC Boston Young Members as we kick off the summer with a weekend of outdoor fun at AMC's Cold River Camp in North Chatham, NH. In true summer camp style, a variety of hiking and other activities will be offered each day as we explore the Evans Notch region of the White Mountains. Hikes will be offered each day for all experience levels. After hiking cool off with a swim, or return to camp to relax in the main lodge where dinner will be served. Enjoy socializing after dinner around the bonfire, or with games or other activities in the lodge.
John, I will follow up with you about the purpose of this test event
Sean has been hiking with the AMC for four years now. He is currently working on his Northeast 111, which includes all 48 4000'ers in New Hampshire and all 46 4000'ers in the Adirondacks. When he's not hiking, you'll see him running half-marathons, marathons, triathlons or working out with November Project.
