Backpack Vermont's Bourn Pond-Stratton Pond Area (w/ Stratton Mountain Hike & Shelter Stay)

Trip dates: Saturday, November 10, 2018 12:00 AM to Monday, November 12, 2018 12:00 AM

Join us for a19-mile loop(ish) hike through the Lye Brook Wilderness. Stunning views from the high point (fire tower atop 3,940-foot Mt. Stratton - on the NEHH and NEFF), the spark that caused the creators of both the Appalachian Trail and the Long Trail to get to work. The loop we've planned takes you past Lye Brook Falls (one of VT's highest) and through the heart of this 17,841-acre wilderness in Green Mountain National Forest near Manchester, Vermont. We plan to stay at the large Stratton Pond shelter, but will bring a couple of tents just in case we don't get everyone in the shelters (it's first come, first serve). This trip is limited to 6 participants and you don't want to miss it!

Love hiking and backpacking in any capacity, any season. I've tackled long distance hiking trips including the Appalachian Trail and Long Trail. I am an organizer for the RI hiking club and am excited to be leading hikes for Boston AMC. Now focused more on sharing my love for the outdoors, I lead slower paced day and overnight trips for people beginning to crave getting outdoors.
