Join Family Outings to explore Walden Pond in Concord, MA. Meet on the porch of the Visitor Center at 1 pm for a 10 minute ranger talk on Thoreau, and then watch an engaging 20 minute Ken Burns film. Then we'll be off to hike and explore the trails around the pond! Hike and trails may vary at leader discretion.
If you are joining us prior at our Family Outings New Year Celebration and Equipment Sale at Thoreau Center in Concord (check out link for more info and to register: https://activities.outdoors.org/search/index.cfm/action/details/id/108940) there may be an option to gather at Thoreau Center to carpool over. Stay tuned.
Hike is free but Walden Pond charges $8 per car for MA plates or $15 non MA plates (Payment is via machine). Parking is free with $10 MA lifetime Senior Pass (age 62+) which can be purchased at Visitor's Center. Please feel free to invite Grandma and Grandpa :).

Chris has an environmental studies degree from the University of Wisconsin. He leads Outdoorsrx trips for families in the Western suburbs of Boston. He also leads nature awareness trips, called Appreciating Nature. In 2014, Chris offered trained volunteer and crew naturalists in how to run nature awareness programs for families. He loves to hike and bike.
